The head of the Government of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, signed an order on the Strategy for the development of services exports until 2025.
The government of the Russian Federation approved the Strategy for the development of services exports until 2025. The strategy reveals the main activities for the country in the framework of achieving a number of goals set by the President in may 2018.
This strategy is divided into several blocks, which separately consider different types of services. One of the blocks was medical services, where the main barriers and ways to overcome them were considered. Over the past few years, the main barriers in the form of “ignorance of foreign citizens”, language barriers” and “visa difficulties” have remained unchanged. The strategy addressed the issues of digitalization, namely the introduction of electronic medical cards for tourists.
Ways to overcome various barriers to the construction of medical tourism in the country were also proposed. In the Strategy it is planned to subsidize medical organizations for the purpose of obtaining international accreditation and opening of its offices in the countries of the target audience. There is also a paragraph that says about grants in support of small businesses in the field of medical tourism. There is also a brief description of additional educational programs for employees and students.
We hope that the signed Strategy on the development of export of services until 2025, the head of Government, Dmitry Medvedev, will be the trigger for the introduction of all useful tools for the project. There are many good initiatives in this project, such as the creation of a single website for medical tourism or subsidizing projects. However, all this was included in the passport of the Federal project “Development of export of medical services”.
